Yes, I’m seriously considering revamping the blog, namely purchasing my own domain and site space and getting the much hyped WordPress.org bundle so I can tweak at my leisure. I’ve thought it over and considering it’s recommended that author’s have websites, I figured what better time to get one? I’m actually building it now although I don’t officially have the space yet and won’t get it for at least a month (thanks to birthdays, Mother’s Day, car registration and taxes and a wedding) . This way I’m not wasting months with the account to build it.
I’m not too adept at coding so it’s going to be more graphic-intensive, which I’m working on now. It’ll be fairly simple although I’d like to think aesthetically pleasing. The site as a whole will be home to a bio, access to a slew of my short stories, WIP information, this blog and my web serial, Dawn, plus a few other things. Everything all in one place makes my OCD happy. I plan to have everything transfered by the end of the summer which, as it stands now, is looking very reasonable. The main hurdle is getting this main page graphic made. I can’t tell you the bitch it was distorting this image to make it look like what I wanted it to look like but I did it. I also had a short cut with the coding too. I already have a fan site so I just ganked the code from there, got rid of some unnecessary things, changed the colors and viola! I have my basic skeleton. I love it.
Lately I’ve been doing good with graphics and I’ve been able to make things come out pretty damn close to the images I had in my head (*knock on wood*) so hopefully this will too. I’m not going to give the website name away until I secure it mainly because I fear squatters. It’s already going to be a .net because the .com version isn’t available so that’s as much of a stretch as I’d like to keep it.
Also, thanks to that package, I’ll be able to move my fansite to this space as well because they’ll allow me to host two separate domains. It’ll be nice not having to outsource larger images because I don’t want to use up all of the space on Geocities. And no more hourly transfer limits. Yay! That’s something that’ll happen later on down the line since it’s not high on my priority list but there you have it! I honestly can’t wait!

You know this particular mollusk will be lying in wait for your new site once it’s up!
Cool! I can’t wait to see how this pans out.
Heehee. I have two preemptive visitors! I work on the graphics on the weekend but I think I got over my biggest hurdle with the desk. I wanted a picture of a desk that faced directly on. Of course, one wasn’t available to I took what I could, including a separate chair and had to distort it so it looked like it was looking straight on. Painstaking but it worked.
Then I had to digitally restain the chair because it was a cherry color and didn’t match the desk. That wasn’t so bad but skewing it from an angle to straight on was a pain in the ass. But it seems to be working out ok.
