The End Is Nigh

I can feel it in my bones.  I’m so close to finishing this first arc of Diamond Crier I can taste it.  I’ve been cranking out the story like nobody’s business.  It also helps that I had a major turning point in the story that I didn’t anticipate pop in that exacerbated everything further.  Always a plus!  Once that marker came in, all of the pieces just sort of fell into place and not only can I see the ending of this story quite clearly, I can see the path it’s on with eyes just as clear.  I’m excited because that means that things are looking phenomenal for me reaching my goal of finishing the arc by the end of the month.  I’m even more excited because that means that I’ll have the month of October off to just putter around and write fanfiction like I want to.  And outline for other stories and prep for NaNo.  Then November comes and I’m a hermit again so I can crank out the first Earth Shatterer story in that month.  I’m trying to write without the fat.  NaNo is a good way to do that.

Somewhere in between there I’m going to acquire and read Self Editing for Fiction Writers that’s been constantly recommended for anyone looking to edit their own work so when December finally rolls around, I can start hammering away on DC.  It just makes me elated that the goals are actually attainable, especially when I’m so close within reach to them.  If all goes right (do you know how hard it is for me not to use ‘write’ when using ‘right’?  Dorky, I know.) then I’ll have written two full length YA novels this year and started editing one.  That’s a major feat considering I hunkered down on novel writing less than a year ago (last December, actually).  It’s hard to finagle the writing into the day when you have a full time job but it’s possible so long as you’re willing to take a little longer to write it all out!  At least that’s the case with me, anyway.  Patience is key and I definitely have more of it than I give myself credit for.
