You know when people say they have these leaning towers of TBRs next to their beds? Do you take them literally or metaphorically? When I say it, I hope you take it literally. This, lovely image to the left, is my current TBR pile not including the two books I’m reading now. It may not be leaning now but if I were to stack them all into one tower, I’m sure they would. That list down there to the right does not include all of the books shown here. If you want a closer look, go ahead and click on the image for a bigger view. This is what I get for going to Barnes and Noble and buying at whim.
And I always used to think I was a fast reader. No. No I’m not. Maybe compared to the people closest to me, sure, but not in the broader scheme of things. Maybe if I weren’t doing so many things at once I’d be able to crack this a little more but as it stands, I can read two at a time at roughly a week and a half at once. I still need to go to Barnes and Noble and research for my YA series post but that means exposing myself to buying temptation. Bad. Must resist . . .
I just wanted to show you all that. So when I make mention of my ginormous TBR pile, I really mean it.
And just a couple more things. I hope the guy that thought deregulating electricity pricing in the state of Connecticut sucks chrome at 65 miles an hour. My condo is a little over 1,000 square feet. We have plastic over half the windows (lazy is keeping us from doing the rest). The heat in any given room is no higher than 65 at any given time. And it’s only that high when we’re in single digit cold snaps like we are now. About 1/3 of the lighting uses energy saving light bulbs. We’ve cut down usage by nearly half of what it was this time last year. Yet I needed to defibrillate myself when I saw the $301.94 due on my bill. Wouldn’t you? I still have an arrhythmia.
And lastly, help me hatch my egg! Click on it to the left. The dragon will love you for it. So will I.
