Children’s Book Week

2009-cbw-posterBe there or be square, man.

From May 11th to May 17th, do all you can to celebrate Children’s Book Week, brought to you by the Children’s Book Council.  There are events scheduled, literally, across the nation, from New York to Seattle, so be sure to check out the websites and make a visit if you can.  Children’s literature needs all the support it can get!

You can help get the word out about this marvelous week by displaying the poster or the Book Week logo on your website.  How about trying on their widget for size?  You can even vote in the Children’s Choice Book Awards.  Or let a young one know they can help decide who gets to win such a coveted prize.  There’s a section for children’s voting and teens’ voting.  Hell, if you’ve read any of the books on their finalists list, go ahead and vote.  I did!   *blush*

Don’t let this valuable week go by without doing something for it.  Whether you just tell other people about it, make it to one of the events, or whatever else you can do, be sure to promote it.  I might have to make my way either to New York or Boston for one of the events.  I’m a Yankee fan, after all, so we’ll see how that one pans out.  :)
